Be prepared for a line of strong to severe storms to move through the region later tonight, especially after 8PM (some areas in Indiana could see storms sooner, especially farther northwest). The strongest storms will likely be west of I-65. You can see the latest briefing slides from our local National Weather Service below.
Much of today will be dry, but a few showers and storms will be possible this afternoon, before tonight’s storms. Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s and low 80s, and it will be a bit breezy with a south wind at 10-20 mph.
The maps below show some activity around this afternoon, but the line of storms will be later tonight.
Damaging winds, hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning will be possible. The overall tornado threat is low.
Much of Tuesday will be comfortably warm and dry, then another round of rain and storms Tuesday night. The threat of severe weather will be higher in Kentucky Tuesday night.
Light rain showers will linger early Wednesday, but most of the rest of our Derby Week will be cooler and mainly dry.
