Christina Sanjuan is a Columbus, Indiana native and meteorologist with nearly a decade of forecasting experience across several very different weather markets. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science and a minor in environmental analysis.
While in college, Christina interned at WHAS11 TV in Louisville and volunteered as a student at the National Weather Service office in Louisville, gaining hands-on experience in both broadcast meteorology and operational forecasting. Her passion for weather also led her to storm chase, giving her an up-close look at the power and complexity of severe weather.
Christina began her professional career at WKRG News 5 in Mobile, Alabama, where tropical weather, severe storms, and coastal impacts were part of the job. She later continued her career at KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs, forecasting everything from mountain snow and damaging winds to hail, wildfires, and rapidly changing conditions along the Front Range. In 2022, Christina had the opportunity to return home to Southern Indiana, where she worked at WHAS11 TV in Louisville and forecasted for the communities she grew up around.
Christina is excited to have found a great fit at Extol Media and Extol Weather, where she can continue doing what she loves while maintaining a better work-life balance outside of the typical television news industry. She looks forward to growing with Extol and serving the Kentuckiana community for many years to come.
Outside of work, Christina is a mom to her two children, Camila and Dominic, and shares her home with their dog, Chicken, their cat, Bowzer, and a few actual chickens. She is passionate about advocating for women in STEM and loves helping make science feel approachable, useful, and fun.
When she is not tracking the forecast, Christina enjoys a good glass of wine, spending time outdoors, doing puzzles, and working on her grilling skills—especially when steak or cheeseburgers are involved.
