The Heat Advisory continues as our September heat wave rolls on today with highs in the mid-90s, and the heat index over 100°. There’s a good chance we tie the record high of 96° today, which was set in 1955. This September is trending as the hottest September on record so far.
Our weather pattern will stay very hot through our last weekend of summer with highs in the 90s. However, relief isn’t too far off! Right on time, as fall begins Tuesday, we should finally see falling temperatures and lower humidity. We just have to wait a little longer for the seasons to change.
As far as rain chances go, we just a have a very small chance of a late day shower or storm, but that’s mostly for areas to our north today. A little better chance (30%) of a few showers/storms Friday with a weak front moving into the region.
Here’s today’s weather history, countdown, and jokes.
