Most the rain and active weather is staying to our north today and through this weekend, although we can’t completely rule out a few pop-up showers and storms. Hot and humid conditions are pretty much a guarantee and we’ll likely have Heat Advisories for Saturday and Sunday.
Partly to mostly cloudy today with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s, with a southwest wind at 5-15 mph. A few pop-up storms possible, but plenty of dry time overall. The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a Marginal Risk of Severe Storms (level 1 of 5).
Do what you can to beat the heat this weekend with the heat index likely well over 100°. The best chance of a pop-up storm will be off to the northeast Saturday.
A front is expected to move through our region late Sunday into early Monday with a rain chance and bringing less hot conditions for much of next week.
Today’s weather history, countdown, and jokes.
