Few Pop-Up Storms, Very Muggy

One thing is guaranteed through this weekend – it’s going to stay very muggy. What’s not for sure is how much rain we’ll see today and tomorrow. For now, it’s just looking like a few pop-up showers and storms and a very low threat of any severe weather. The map below shows a little activity popping up this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a Marginal Risk of Severe Storms, which is level 1 of 5, the lowest risk.

Other than a small storm chance, today will stay steamy with highs up around 90° and the heat index near 100°. A southwest wind at 5-15 mph.

It is going to be a super hot weekend with highs in the mid-90s and the heat index well over 100°! Find some good ways to keep cool.

A front should move through with a rain chance early Monday, then a little temperature relief is on the way next week.
