The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a Slight Risk of Severe Storms today, with the threat most likely happening late afternoon into the evening – possibly similar to yesterday. The main threat again will be damaging straight-line wind, frequent lightning, hail, and heavy rainfall.

Several weather models are calling for storms by after 6 PM. This is the WRF-ARW model around 8 PM. These clusters of storms are notorious for being hard to time out this time of year, so they could arrive a bit earlier, or a bit later. Either way, stay weather alert later today, and be ready to seek shelter if a warning is issued.

Fewer showers and storms are expected Thursday and Friday, then a very hot weekend is on the way!
