Our weather is cool, quiet, and sunny today, but strong winds return Friday, then rain and snow possible Sunday night into Monday. A roller coaster ride of weather for sure!
Sunny and much lighter wind today with highs around 50°. Wind from the northwest at 5-15 mph. Mostly clear and chilly tonight with lows in the upper 30s.
A strong low-pressure system over the Great Lakes will kick up our winds Friday. A Wind Advisory is likely to be in effect, with sustained winds at 20-30 mph, and gusts to 40-45 mph. It will be milder and dry though with highs in the 60s.
Saturday is nice and quiet with highs around 60°. Pleasant conditions for the St. Patrick’s Parade Saturday afternoon.
Sunday will be mainly dry and warmer with highs in the 70s. A strong cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms Sunday night with a transition to light snow showers possible Monday (GFS weather model map below overnight Sunday).
It will be a chilly last workweek of winter, but a warm up is likely as spring officially beings next Friday.
