It’s not unusual to see members of the FOUR BARREL CROSSFIT community take photos of their workouts and post them on various social networks. Those pics provide inspiration, affirmation and accountability. But what if you put a purpose behind those photos, wondered Laurie Hellmann. With the help of fellow Four Barrel CrossFit member and photographer Anna May, Hellmann was easily able to get dozens of female members to participate in what soon turned into a calendar shoot in honor of their workout pal Michele Wilson, who is a recent breast cancer survivor. “The calendar is centered around women and all different facets of our lives,” Hellmann said. “Even with cancer, even with everything else going on in your life, you can still be strong.”
The calendar is available for purchase at Four Barrel CrossFit, 322 Mt Tabor Road in New Albany, for a suggested donation of $25, all of which goes to Norton’s Cancer Center. For more on this story, including photos, go to extolmag.com.
