We’ll have another chance of spotty showers and thunderstorms today, as a Flood Watch continues for much of the area. Severe weather is not expected, but any downpour could be capable of very heavy rainfall and localized flooding through this afternoon and early evening. The maps below show the activity around the area midday and this afternoon.

Any showers and storms will fade away after sunset. Other than the rain chance today, it will be mostly cloudy, humid, with a light and variable breeze. Partly cloudy and not quite as muggy tonight.

There is some good news, as we’ll have a little wedge of dry air moving in for Tuesday. I think you’ll notice the slightly drier and lower humidity Tuesday.

Thankfully, we’ll have some drier days ahead for the rest for the workweek. The heat and humidity will be ramping back up mid-week with highs in the mid-90s, and the heat index climbing over 100°.

Rain and storm chances will be increasing for this weekend.
