Elevating People, Inside and Out
In the realm of beauty and wellness, finding establishments that not only meet, but exceed your expectations can be a transformative experience. Two such exceptional destinations, Adam Paul Salon and Dailey Wellness & Massage, stand out as beacons of luxury, innovation, and holistic care. These unique local businesses are perfect for anyone seeking to nourish not just their hair, but body, soul, and spirit.
Married couple, Adam Christian, owner of Adam Paul Salon, and Jason Dailey, owner of Dailey Wellness & Massage, attended cosmetology school and massage school at the same time. Upon graduation, both were hired at the same salon and spa. Eventually growing out of their first professional home, Jason began working at The Kula Center in New Albany while Adam moved to another salon. Years later, the couple combined their passions into the same lease in Jeffersonville.
“Everybody was asking if we were opening a salon and spa and we had to explain that we are two separate businesses,” said Jason. “Here at Dailey Wellness & Massage, we primarily do more rehabilitative preventative care, clinical therapeutic massage that incorporates wellness and relaxation.” Some of Jason’s services include yoga, massage therapy, and vibrational sound therapy, really focusing on muscle, soft tissue, and factors that might cause chronic dysfunction or chronic pain.
Adam and Jason believe strongly in the power of educating and lifting others up to where they are. “A lot of stylists come out of school and are thrown to the wolves and they end up losing their passion,” explained Adam, who has specialized in hair for over 13 years. “Outside of my marriage, this is my favorite thing about life. If I lost that passion, I would be very sad. I don’t want that to happen to anyone at our business.”
Adam Paul Salon and Dailey Wellness & Massage are founded on principles of passion and elevating individuals to help them feel their best, physically and emotionally. When it comes to working with clients, Adam has learned that psychology plays a huge role in how he helps others feel good in their own skin. “I’m passionate about self expression. Confidence comes from within, but it should be reflected on the outside,” he said.
“Older millennials and Gen Z, we had to conform a lot of the time,” said Jason. “Now, as adults, we’re finding out really who we are and expressing ourselves more and it’s happening earlier with our younger generation, and we really think that’s great.”
Adam and Jason’s philosophy of empowering self and confidence are evident in how they run their businesses as well. Both owners strive to not just hire employees, but really develop their teams as professionals and individuals, pushing them to work hard on the things that scare them in order to help them become better. “We really drive our teams to remember and stay focused on their ‘why.’ Why they do what they do, why they decided to come and work here, and why they want to achieve what they want to do in their careers,” said Jason.
“You can get a service anywhere,” Adam explained. “We are selling the service provider.”
Adam and Jason continue to learn what it means to grow their successful businesses and encourage anyone wanting to start their own business to really dive into their passions. “Sure, it’s scary, but sometimes you just have to jump and do it,” Jason excitedly explained.
“There’s a million different reasons to not do something,” added Adam. “It all comes back to your ‘why.’”
