Just like yesterday, we have another Heat Advisory for this afternoon and evening with the heat index climbing up to 105°. Take all precautions to keep cool through the middle of next week as the extreme heat and humidity continues across the region.

A high near 95° this afternoon, with triple digit heat index values. The UV Index is at a Very High level of 10. Only a very small chance of a stray afternoon pop-up shower, but most locations will stay dry.

Just a slightly better chance of a pop-up shower or storm Saturday and Sunday, then mainly dry with more oppressive heat early next week. The maps below show the very isolated nature of our rain chances today through Saturday.

So, looking ahead to the good news! Relief is expected to arrive by around next Thursday or Friday, with lower temperatures and lower humidity. A happy start to August next week!

Have a great weekend and keep cool friends! – Meteorologist Ben Peine
