Last summer, Evan Rivard started with a GoPro. He used the little action camera to film underwater shots at the beach in Destin, Fla., a place he and his family call “Louisville South” and “home.” Quickly, the 17-year-old discovered he had a passion for photography while those around noted his raw talent.
Back at “home home” – as he and his family call Southern Indiana – and now armed with a Canon DSLR T2i, Evan found himself exploring his hometown as if it were the first time. “A lot of people complain that Southern Indiana is boring and there’s nothing to do, but I don’t think you can judge a place before you go out and really explore it,” he said. “I encourage people to go out and explore before you judge because (Southern Indiana) is a pretty awesome place.”
