Art in Speed Park

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Art in Speed Park, an annual celebration of art, music and wine in Sellersburg. On August 29 and 30, historic Speed Park will be filled with the nation’s premier artisans. The free, public festival will feature food, live music and a lovely wine garden courtesy of Huber’s Orchard and Winery.

Renowned stone carver Al Nelson has been commissioned to carve a stone sculpture that will appear to be emerging from the park’s fishpond. The sculpture, which will be a permanent addition to Speed Park, will be unveiled just before the festival.

Hsiao-Ling Gardner, an art teacher in Henryville, will create a whimsical public art installation on the building in Speed Park. This will serve as an interactive art opportunity for youth to add paintbrush strokes during the art fair.

Poster(1)Graphic designer Doreen Barnhart DeHart created the stunning 25th anniversary poster. There are 350 limited edition signed posters available to purchase for $20 prior to the show at Copper Moon Gallery in New Albany and Frame It! in Sellersburg. Doreen will be on hand at the festival to sign posters as well as help out her twin, artist Jeaneen Barnhart, in her booth for the weekend.

Sponsorship is always needed to help Art in Speed Park thrive. This year introduces Friends of Art in Speed Park, a sponsorship level of just $25 commemorating the festival’s 25th year of showcasing art in Southern Indiana. All sponsors and Friends of Art in Speed Park will be listed on the website and at the art show. Checks can be made payable to Art in Speed Park and mailed to PO Box 262, Sellersburg IN 47172.
