Temperatures topped out at 90° in Louisville for the first time this year yesterday, and today will be just about the same. However, a stationary front will be ramping up our chance for showers and storms over the next few days.
Another summer-like day is in story for today with highs in the upper 80s. Partly sunny, with a south breeze at 10-15 mph. Tonight will stay mainly dry, partly cloudy, a bit humid and warm with lows near 70°.

Now, let’s look ahead to our chances of showers and storms Thursday through Saturday. A stationary front will get hung up over Central Indiana Thursday, and it will be close enough for spotty showers and storms over Southern Indiana. It does look like Kentucky will end up drier than Indiana Thursday, as Kentucky will be farther away from the front.

The front will move over the Ohio River Friday, and this will bring our highest chance of scattered storms across the area. The overall severe weather threat looks pretty low, but a few strong storms will be possibly with locally heavy rain. The front will be close enough to keep scattered showers and storms in the forecast for Saturday as well.
We’ll have the potential for around 1-3″ of rainfall Thursday through Saturday.

Our weather pattern will stay a bit unsettled through early next week, with more rain chances on Monday.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! – Meteorologist Ben Peine
