Temperatures will be soaring to record high territory this afternoon in the mid-80s. The old record is 84°, set in 2007. The warm air is riding in on gusty southwest winds sustained at 10-20 mph, with gusts to 30-35 mph.
A cold front will bring rain showers Friday morning with a 1/4″ to 1/2″ of rain total.
The severe weather threat looks like it will stay north over Central and Northern Indiana. Notice the Enhanced Risk (level 3 out of 5) is between I-70 and the Indiana/Michigan state line.
The rain will taper off Friday afternoon with much cooler temperatures in the 50s. North winds at 10-20 mph Friday.
Temperatures will fall to near freezing overnight Friday into early Saturday morning. We’ll likely have a Frost Advisory across the region, reminding you to protect any sensitive vegetation.
