Celebration served as official start to development of Jeffersonville community
PREMIER HOMES hosted a ground-breaking ceremony in late October at 4029 Herb Lewis Road in Jeffersonville to celebrate the official start to the development of Ellingsworth Commons.
“We look forward to celebrating the beginning of our development of this one-of-a-kind lifestyle community,” said Premier Homes President Jeff Corbett. “Ellingsworth Commons also will improve the quality of life for area residents by increasing the tax base, providing economic growth by encouraging new businesses and addressing the growing housing need due to job growth in Jeffersonville.”
David Blankenbeker, a local surveyor and land planner, worked to develop Ellingsworth Commons by employing some of the concepts put forth by Randall Arendt, author of Rural by Design and a national-recognized expert on creative development design. The property is bounded by Port Road, Stonelilly Drive, Herb Lewis Road and Middle Road. Located off I-265 in Jeffersonville – mere minutes from Louisville – Ellingsworth Commons is a sprawling development that will feature numerous green spaces, three lakes, playgrounds, parks, walking and biking trails, a clubhouse and pool, and more than 500 lots on nearly 170 acres of land. Homes in the family-friendly community will range in style, including craftsman, brick and stone. Prices start at $180,000.
“This is something Southern Indiana has never seen before,” said Premier Homes Sales Manager Cat Stevens. “Ellingsworth Commons is about encouraging camaraderie with your neighbors. This is a lifestyle; this is creating a community.”
