Jamie Longacre Joins Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana as Development Director
Nonprofit strategist brings fundraising expertise to further the fight against homelessness
NEW ALBANY, Ind. (July 30, 2025) — The Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana is proud to announce the hiring of Jamie Longacre as its new Development Director. A seasoned nonprofit professional with a strong background in fundraising and strategic development, Longacre will lead efforts to strengthen the Coalition’s resource development and further its mission to prevent homelessness and expand access to affordable housing across the region.
“Jamie has worked with us before in another capacity,” said Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana Executive Director Leslea Townsend Cronin. “So, when the job opened, it was a no-brainer that she would be the perfect fit. We are so excited to have Jamie on board, and I am very excited to work with her.”
Longacre holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from Indiana University, with a concentration in Nonprofit Management. Her career spans impactful roles at national, state, and local organizations, including the American Heart Association, Hosparus Health, and Ivy Tech Community College, where she helped drive significant philanthropic growth. Most recently, she worked in the nonprofit tech sector as a database consulting specialist, helping mission-driven organizations across the country optimize their fundraising strategies through data-informed use of donor CRM software.
“As a Southern Indiana native, I am honored to step into this role and join the critical work already being done to resolve our region’s affordable housing crisis,” Longacre said. “The Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana has long been a hub for collaboration and impact. I look forward to building on that foundation, advancing partnerships, and mobilizing the resources needed to create meaningful, lasting change.”
The Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana plays a central role in coordinating housing and support services for individuals and families in crisis. With Longacre’s leadership in development, the organization is poised to enhance its capacity to serve and expand its community impact. One of her first responsibilities is broadening the reach of the organization’s annual fundraising breakfast, A Meaningful Morning, which is 8-9:30 AM on Aug. 28 at Indiana University Southeast. Details, registration, and sponsorship information are available at soinhomeless.org/meaningfulmorning.
