On a Scale of 1 to 10, How Do You Rate?
If you had to rate your health in 2015, how would you rate yourself, with 1 being “still not healthy but who is really counting” and 10 being “I have worked my tail off this year – count it.”
If you rated yourself a 1, what’s holding you back? Are you a member at a gym or at another fitness arena? Are you not sure about where to start? If you rated yourself a 10, how do you plan on staying on this journey toward good health in 2016?
When I talk about our health or being healthy, I am not talking about being super skinny and eating only salads. Healthy is a state of being – something you live day in and day out that should encompass your mind, body and spirit. This isn’t always easy to achieve. Some people have a difficult time finding their way toward good health, but the best news is that you don’t have to do it on your own.
If the journey of getting healthier is new for you, then you need to figure out where you should start. If you have never stepped foot into a fitness center or you really have no idea what foods you should and shouldn’t be eating, then let me introduce you to Take Shape For Life (TSFL), one of my favorite programs. TSFL empowers people to be healthier versions of themselves by creating what they call Optimal Health. I have seen this program work; it is no joke. When you sign up with TSFL, you are given a Health Coach who will help you navigate through their programs and get you to where you need to be health-wise. The program is for just about everyone regardless of age. It’s also for those who have a little bit of weight to lose or a lot of weight to lose, and for those who have tried every other weight loss program out there or are tired of living unhealthy. TSFL will help you form a healthier lifestyle that you can take with you forever. For more information, send an email to me at extol@extolmag.com – put Ask Em in the subject line – or go to www.tsfl.com.
If you have been to a gym or fitness center and you are bored with the same old classes every week, let me introduce you to something I recently fell in love with – Four Barrel CrossFit. I was paying for a gym membership that I wasn’t using because basically I was bored. I needed something that would excite me. I have friends who were already members, and they encouraged me to try it out. The rest is history. I fell in love with a program they offer called LeanX, which is more of a high intensity conditioning class that helps burn fat and improve cardio. I encourage anyone who was like me – bored and unmotivated at my old gym – to try it out. You will not be sorry. For more information, you can contact me or go to www.fourbarrelcrossfit.com.
Now if you rated yourself a 10 for 2015, I encourage you to continue on your journey in 2016 and reach out for help along the way when and if you need it. Keeping your mind in a good place with your spirit as your guide, I truly believe that we all can be the healthiest versions of ourselves. Here’s to 2016!
