JESSICAL WALTERS
Southern Indiana and Kentucky had quite the show last night with the glowing Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). A strong geomagnetic storm could still linger this evening for more potential Aurora viewing opportunities. Of course, our phone cameras do a much better job these days than our eyes, but you may still see the glow with your naked eye.
NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center Aurora forecast is looking just as good as last night.

The Northern Lights change color based on the intensity of the solar activity and the interaction with Oxygen atoms at higher altitudes and nitrogen at lower levels.

Our sky will be mostly clear again tonight and a little chilly. So grab the coat and take a look to the northern sky this evening! If you would like to share your Northern Lights pictures, feel free to email me Ben@extolmag.com.
