Today will be gorgeous with some sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s! A cold front will bring a chance of a few showers and storms to the region this evening. A few of those storms could be on the strong side with gusty winds and hail, but the higher chance will be for areas to the southwest of Southern Indiana. Therefore, a very low chance of any severe weather.
The models below show some of the storms arriving around 7pm (HRRR), or a bit later 10 pm (NAM 3km), either way, don’t be surprised if you hear some thunder tonight. Rainfall totals once again won’t be enough to cause any additional flooding.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a Marginal Risk of Severe Storms, that is the lowest level (1 out of 5).

The Ohio River has crested and is expected to drop below flood stage this weekend. Then, it’s just going to be a whole bunch of clean-up hours along the waterfronts. The latest river levels are below.

SOUTHERN INDIANA FORECAST:
We have beautiful weather to enjoy today, and actually through this weekend. As mentioned, we’ll have some evening/night showers and storms, especially along and south of I-64, but after that we’re drying out by around sunrise Friday morning.
Therefore, enjoy a sunny weekend, with highs near 60° Saturday, upper 60s Sunday, then 70s Monday. Looking ahead, the next chance of rain will arrive Monday afternoon as a cold front moves through Indiana and Kentucky. Rainfall amounts look very light with that weak front.
