For months, Scott County has been cast in the national spotlight after an HIV epidemic rocked the community. The outbreak, which has been linked to intravenous drug use, was reported on by media outlets from around the country and began to overshadow so much about the Indiana county. It’s imperative that the epidemic continues to be addressed, but it’s as equally important to share the multitude of positive stories coming out of Scott County. That’s why, starting with this issue, we begin a new series highlighting the community by Celebrating Scott County, one story at a time.
