Sept. 13 | Huber’s Orchard and Winery in Starlight
Local celebrities hit the dance floor for the 10th annual Hosparus Southern Indiana Dancing with the Stars event on Sept. 13, raising more than $185,000 for hospice patients and families in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, Washington and Crawford counties. More than 750 guests enjoyed an evening of fun, food and drink at Huber’s Orchard & Winery. Cheryl Koetter was named the winner of this year’s dance competition for raising the most money for Hosparus. In total, the 10 dance competitors raised $84,000. Koetter danced a country number accompanied by professional Brandon Thompson. Other dancers and their pros included Emily Grantz who danced with pro Clay Marshall; Lauran Jones Harritt, who also danced with Marshall; Adrienne Holland, who danced with pro Jani Szukk; Mike Kopp, who partnered with pro Kimberly Hassman; Willie Lozado, who also danced with Hassman; Brent Rogers, who partnered with pro Cherie Lanier; Tommy Sheets, who danced with pro Viktoria Szukk; Susie Stewart, who partnered with Jani Szukk; and Stacy Weeks Ledington, who also danced with Thompson. The event was organized by a dedicated committee of volunteers, including Tammy Balmer Stuart, Pam Lumley, Carrie Magers, Nichole Slaughter, Krista Uhl and Bonita Embry Coots.
