LL&A Interior Design team’s Katie Bryant soars to new heights on the catwalk
LL&A Interior Design stepped out for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Louisville Lexington Product Runway 2021 at The Louisville Zoo earlier this season. The fashion show showcased the Southern Indiana and Kentucky interior design community’s penchant for product ingenuity and creativity.
To prep for the high-energy show, themed “Into the Wild,” design teams were randomly selected an animal habitat and instructed to select one animal that would reside within the specific environment. Teams were then tasked with constructing a high fashion look using materials provided by industry partners.
LL&A Interior Design, which is owned by Leslie Lewis Sheets, was given the mountains as their habitat, and the animal they represented was an owl. The team partnered with J+J Flooring and talented seamstress Beth Roberts, an employee at First Savings Bank who also has a design degree, and went to work. Sarah Wooten, who is a part of the LL&A design team, was responsible for the makeup on LL&A staffer and model Katie Bryant, who rocked the runway – and these photos.
So, what was it like wearing materials intended for home and business design and decor? “It felt pretty heavy,” laughed Katie, “but was (at least) very warm).”
