We have big changes on the way this weekend! We start with light rain Friday and we end with a polar plunge Sunday! The coldest air since early March is expected Sunday through Tuesday with lows in the 20s, and wind chills in the teens.
Let’s time out Friday’s rain first. Light rain showers are likely to arrive by mid-morning and continuing into the early afternoon for Southern Indiana. The rain lasts longer in Kentucky, especially in areas east of I-65. Notice rainfall totals look to be light overall with less than a 1/4″.

The rain will move out for most by mid-afternoon. Despite the rain, it will stay mild in the 60s.
This will leave us with a pleasant Saturday with highs in the mid-60s.
Now, a strong polar cold front will move through late Saturday night with light rain possible. As temperatures tumble Sunday, we could have some of our first flurries of the season late Sunday into early Monday. Several weather models are supporting this light snow chance, especially the EURO.

Frigid temperatures are the big story. We’ll have our first hard freezes Monday and Tuesday mornings with lows in the 20s. However, it will also be breezy, so wind chills are expected to be in the teens. Brrr!!

Temperatures will warm back up by the middle of next week.
