If you are enjoying these fall-like conditions, well, we should have plenty more of it to enjoy. The Climate Prediction Center has high confidence we’ll have below average temperatures through the long-range outlook as well.

The jet stream will continue to flow from the northwest giving us reinforcing shots of autumn-like air. Now, we will have a few days mixed in that will be a bit warmer in the 80s, but overall, it’s cooler-than-normal.
It’s also been a very dry weather pattern, with no rain for days. The latest Drought Monitor has placed our region under Abnormally Dry and Level 1 drought status.

Our pattern will stay mainly dry through Labor Day. Notice the super, teeny, tiny chances of rain today to the northeast, and tomorrow as a mainly dry front moves through the region.

So, keep enjoy the below normal temps and low humidity providing cool nights and comfortably warm afternoon. Perhaps, not ideal for the pools and lakes with the water temperatures dropping.

Have a great holiday weekend! -Meteorologist Ben Peine
