Temperatures will be running 5-10° above normal for this last week of summertime, with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. A ridge of high pressure in the upper-levels of the atmosphere will keep our area mainly dry as well through Friday.
Although temperatures will be a bit hot, thankfully the air will stay relatively dry with dewpoints in the 50s. So, a fairly dry heat this week.

Areas that did not pick up rain Saturday night into Sunday morning will have worsening drought conditions and an elevated wildfire danger.
The Climate Prediction Center has much of the United States with above normal chances of above normal temperatures through the 6-10 Day Outlook.

The ridge will begin to break down and much-needed rain chances will increase this weekend into next week. Perhaps temperatures will begin to cool down a bit next week as well as fall begins. The autumn season officially begins next Monday at 2:19 PM.

Have a great week! -Meteorologist Ben Peine
