NEW ALBANY, Ind. – In February, the Floyd County Legacy Foundation (FCLF) solicited grant applications from local nonprofits whose mission is to help support Floyd County residents in Southern Indiana. For 2025, the FCLF is pleased to announce it has awarded grants to 11 area nonprofit organizations totaling $553,380.
The grant program, which is in its sixth year, awards grants to organizations that meet the needs and priorities of Southern Indiana residents living in New Albany, Floyds Knobs, Greenville, Georgetown, and Galena using the Priorities for Progress—Assets and Aspirations in Southern Indiana 2021 Report, which was produced in partnership with the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana and Indiana University Southeast Applied Research and Education Center.
This year’s grant recipients include:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, Inc. ($30,000) – Provide 30 Floyd County youth with evidence-based mentor services
Brandon’s House Counseling Center ($56,875) – Free counseling for teens and families
Choices Life Resource Center ($50,300) – Renovations within New Albany Branch
Family Ark ($65,000) – Renovate and furnish indoor/outdoor family visitation space
Floyd County Department of Parks and Recreation ($200,000) – Renovation of Lake Pavilion and shoreline within Community Lake and Beach
Habitat for Humanity Clark and Floyd Indiana ($15,000) – Support of Home Building Program
Jacob’s Well ($41,780) – Continue construction on Community Center
Kerith Family Recovery ($15,000) – Creation of 30 scholarship for children to participate in the Kerith Kids and Camp Kerith of Southern Indiana programs
LifeSpan Resources, Inc. ($35,138) – Support of two wheelchair lift-equipped vans
Our Place Drug and Alcohol Education Services, Inc. ($39,287) – Fund a licensed mental health counselor
The Healing Place ($5,000) – Support of shelter and recovery program
